RENO, Nev. The University of Hawai'i football team was picked to finish fourth in the Western Athletic Conference by media members who cover the conference.
The poll was released today at the 2001 WAC Media preview.
"I don't really believe in polls," said UH coach June Jones, who did not attend the event. "You have to play the games."
In 1999 the Warriors were projected to finish eighth but ended up in a three-way tie for the WAC championship. "That's what polls mean," Jones said.
