Cook's Tips
Flatten ground meat before freezing

By Joan Namkoong
Advertiser Food Editor

If you're freezing ground meats — beef, pork, turkey, chicken or lamb — use a zippered plastic bag and flatten the meat in the bag, making the portion as thin as possible. The meat will freeze quickly and it also will thaw quickly when you're ready to use it.
