TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "Diana: Story of A Princess" conclusion, 9 p.m., The Learning Channel. The second half of this four-hour documentary offers only scattered moments of joy. Princess Diana resumes her affair with James Hewitt as he becomes a war hero in the Persian Gulf. "She sent parts of Playboy magazine," says Hewitt, who gave them to his men. "They were hugely appreciated." She had affairs with Dr. Hasnat Khan and Dodi al-Fayed. She also showed a genuine knack for charity work. Then there was the other side.

"Real Teens, Real Times," 7 p.m., NBC. As a prelude to its 9 p.m. movie, which viewed suburban kids in 1982, NBC talks to modern ones. Subjects range from plastic surgery to co-ed sleepovers.

"Cops," 7 p.m., Fox. These reruns from Seattle and Tacoma include pursuits of motorcycles, plus one poor chap going the wrong direction in a stolen vehicle.

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (1982), 8 p.m., NBC. Making her directing debut, Amy Heckerling brilliantly crafted a teen film that ranges from goofy to dead serious. She also assembled a wonderful bunch of young, mostly unknown actors: Jennifer Jason Leigh, superb in the central role; Phoebe Cates; Judge Reinhold; and a classic Sean Penn performance as Spicoli, the surf dude.

"Thinner" (1996), 8 p.m., ABC. This obscure Stephen King film has an overweight lawyer facing a curse that has him lose way too much weight.

"The District," 9 p.m., CBS. The police chief's son is addicted to the drug ecstasy.
