Newspaper, retailer team up
Advertiser Staff
Starting today, the state's six Wal-Mart stores will begin selling The Honolulu Advertiser at checkout counters and will donate part of the proceeds to the Hawai'i Public School Foundation.
The partnership between Wal-Mart and The Advertiser is the first of its kind for the discount retailer in Hawai'i.
The donations will be used for literacy programs for public-school students. Wal-Mart will also participate in The Advertiser's Newspaper-In-Education program, which provides curriculum for students to be used with the daily newspaper.
