Isabella Rosselini calls her cosmetics line Manifesto, with the fragrance products based on basil.

Manifesto

Isabella Rossellini, international beauty icon, actress, author, model and mother of two, has taken on yet another role: entrepreneur. She now has a line of cosmetics and fragrance called Manifesto, which translates her ideas, experiences and memories into products. The daughter of actress Ingrid Bergman and director Roberto Rossellini has lead a remarkable life in the spotlight.

On Thursday night from 7:30 to 8:30, she will make an appearance at DFS Galleria Waikiki in the second-floor Cosmetics Department, to introduce Manifesto to Island women, part of DFS Manifest Week through Friday, featuring free makeup consultations, samples and prizes.

The product line is simple, practical, and easy to use and carry. For example, foundation comes in little one-time-pau capsules. Lipsticks have a mirror on the top for easy touchups on the run. And a single product can be used as a lipstick, cheek and eye color.

"Style in makeup is what we make of the face we are born with. Style reveals our taste, our personality, our absolute uniqueness," Rossellini said.

Manifesto fragrance is based on basil, a comforting, homey aroma. It comes in a full line of bath and body products. The individually wrapped soap singles, bath foams, tablets and salts are great for travel or space-saving at home.

Why did Rossellini call her line Manifesto? "Manifesto is about inspiring the unique expression of beauty without imposing any rules or guidelines. The name simply encourages all women, however they like, to make their own rules."
