NANCY GLOVER was born in Illinois, but in the more than 20 years she lived here she became like a sister to the people of Waimanalo's Hawaiian community. She was 47. See story.

VIRGINIA RAMOS DELUZ, the matriarch of a highly successful Hamakua family that spread itself into business, land ownership and politics, died at her Pohakea homestead residence Friday. She was 93. See story.
