Island music fans, this is your lucky night. The KCCN Hoku Block Party, with three stages of entertainment, begins at 8:30 p.m. today (doors open at 8 p.m.) at Aloha Tower Marketplace. Among the performers at Gordon Biersch, Don Ho's and the new Kapono's are Roots Odyssey, Reign, Mana Ohana, Butch Helemano, AZ, B.E.T., Anelaikalani/O'Brian Eselu, Kanalo, Ka'ala Boys, Jon & Justin, Pacific Blu, Ten Feet, Native Blend & Pati, Koa'uka, Mark Atuaia, Kapono, Kahiau, Ho'onu'a, Damon, Mana'o Company, Fiji and Three Plus. Bamboo sounds

Master musician Riley Lee, with assistance from Robert Herr and Steven Casano, will perform a free shakuhachi (bamboo flute) concert/demonstration 7 p.m. Monday at the East-West Center Gallery, John A. Burns Hall. The concert is offered in conjunction with the "Bamboo in Japanese Culture: Traditional, Ritual, Practical" art exhibit in the EWC Gallery, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays and noon-4 p.m. Sundays, through June 29. Period piece

Christian Liberty School on the Big Island brings to Honolulu a play titled "Divided We Stand," a Civil War drama. The Love Festival 2001, with a long lineup of DJs, begins when the doors open at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. Among the spinners will be Darude, Donald Glaude, Boba Fetish, DJ Evil, DJ Huggie, DJ Jedi, G-Spot, Ikon, Jedi, Kavet the Catalyst, Rise Up, Space Cowboy and a whole mess o' others offering three areas of sound.
