How to vote

This is the ballot for The Advertiser’s annual ‘Ilima Awards, a people’s choice award in which readers select their favorite restaurants in the Islands. Awardees will be named in a special Advertiser section on Sunday, Oct. 7. Winners will be honored at a gala benefit for Diamond Head Theatre (this year set for Oct. 8), an event sponsored by VISA. Here are the rules:

Vote once only. Ballots must be filled out by hand and must be mailed in — no typed, faxed or e-mail entries. You need not fill out the entire ballot.

• Download the ballot file to your desktop, open it and print.
• You may vote for any single restaurant only three times.

Include name, address and daytime telephone number. Ballots without this information will be disqualified, as will illegible ballots.

• Ballots become your entry form in a Sept. 14 drawing for restaurant gift certificate and theater packages; winners will be notified individually.
• Advertiser employees may not enter.
• Ballots must be postmarked on or before July 7.
• Winners will be based on a count as tallied by the accounting firm of Nishihama and Kishida.
