What's open and closed for Kamehameha Day

Here's what's open and closed Monday for Kamehameha Day:

GOVERNMENT:

• Federal offices: Open.
• State offices: Closed.
• City, county offices: Closed.


PUBLIC SERVICES:

• Libraries: All closed. Most reopen Tuesday, except Waialua, Kailua-Kona, Kihei, Lana'i and Princeville, which will reopen Wednesday.
• TheBus: State holiday schedule, with express service; slightly reduced regular weekday and express bus service for military bases and downtown. Call 848-5555.
• On-street parking: Free, except for metered Kalakaua Avenue spaces adjacent to Kapi'olani Park; holiday tow-away parking as permitted by sign; municipal lot meters must be fed.
• Traffic: No coning.
• Trash: Regular residential and business pickup.
• Landfills and convenience centers: Open.
• Open markets: Closed.
• Municipal golf courses: Open.
• City recreation centers: Open.
• Mail: Regular residential and business delivery, post office, and collection box service.
• Humane Society: Open, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Blood bank: Dillingham center, open, 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; downtown center, closed.


FINANCIAL SERVICES:

• Banks/savings and loans: Most open.
• Stock market: Open.
• Credit unions: Most open.


SCHOOLS:

• Public: Closed.
• UH: Offices: Call 956-8111.


MUSEUMS/INSTITUTIONS:

• National Memorial Cemetery (Punchbowl): Open.
• Arizona Memorial: Open.
• Polynesian Cultural Center: Open.
• Contemporary (art) Museum, grounds, gift shop and cafe: Closed.
• Bishop Museum: Open.
• Honolulu Zoo: Open.
• Japanese Cultural Center (and Historical Gallery): Closed.
• Waikiki Aquarium: Open.
• Academy of Arts: Closed.
• Botanical Gardens, including Foster Garden, Ho'omaluhia, Wahiawa & Koko Head botanic gardens: Open.
