'Ahuimanu standoff suspect charged

Police have charged a 43-year-old man who they say was involved in an 'Ahuimanu standoff Monday that ended when he was shot with specially blunted ammunition.

Both drove to the 47-500 block of Alawiki Street, where the man refused to leave his car. Police were called and tried to negotiate for several hours. Police said they finally fired the special ammo at the suspect, who was holding a knife.
