In an effort to emphasize the importance of fatherhood and to encourage fathers to become more involved with their families, the Hawai'i Coalition for Dads will present "Celebrating Dads Fun Day," 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Saturday at Pearlridge Center, Uptown and Downtown.
The free event will feature lots of hands-on activities, such as crafts and games, for dads and their children to do together. These include making special bookmarkers with stickers and playing on a putting green. There will also be live entertainment, including performances by various hula halau, Hawai'i Square Dancers, Hawai'i Thistle Pipe Band, magicians and more. Door prizes will also be given throughout the day.
The Hawai'i Coalition for Dads is an agency that conducts several public awareness activities, advocates "father-friendly" legislation and provides programs and services to encourage father involvement.
