Tau Dance Theatre will mark its fifth anniversary with a dance concert called "'Elima," Hawaiian for "five," at 8 p.m. June 23 and 2 p.m. June 24 at the Hawai'i Theatre.

The featured work will be "Aureole," by New York's pioneering dance icon, Paul Taylor, and the concert will also include a tribute to Earnest T. Morgan, with excerpts of the late dancer-choreographer's "Olomana Suite." "Petroglyphs," also on the bill, will feature chants by Pualani Kanahele Kanaka'ole and Nona Beamer.

Tau Dance Theatre, led by Peter Rockford Espiritu, is known for its athleticism, as well as a haunting synthesis of Hawaiian, modern and ballet dance modes in its choreography.

The program will also be on the Big Island at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Kahilu Theatre in Waimea. Tickets: $15, $10. Call: (808) 885-0506.
