Hunt will portray DHT's 'Cinderella'

Tara Melia Hunt will play the title role of "Cinderella" when Diamond Head Theatre revives its production of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical July 6 -22.

Other lead roles will be played by Jason Wells as the Prince, Lisa Konove as the Stepmother, Euphosyne V.E. Rushford as Joy and Devon Guard as the Fairy Godmother.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and at 4 p.m. Sundays.

Tickets: $10 to $40, on sale at the box office; discounts are available for students, military members and seniors. Reservations: 734-0274.

A pre-opening benefit gala, from 6:30 p.m. July 5, also is planned, including food, wine, a silent auction and an 8 p.m. performance. Tickets: $75 and $100. Reservations: 734-8763.

'Jazz Not Jazz' to play downtown

"Jazz Not Jazz," an evening of jazz and more, will be from 6 p.m. June 29 at Marks Garage in downtown Honolulu.

Performing artists, dubbed the Junk Jazz Workshop for the evening, will be Dallas Thomas, Lyndy Patterson, Babatunji Heath, Steven Zeigler, Chris Coddington, Kevin Hughes, Dale Machado, George Hurd and John Yamazaki.

The Jazztones, Scare Tactics and vinyl spins by IV also will be featured.
