Five groups hoping to prevent further development of downtown Honolulu's Irwin Park won a round in Circuit Court this morning.
Judge Gary Chang granted legal standing to Scenic Hawai'i, the Outdoor Circle, Historic Hawai'i Foundation, Hawai'i's Thousand Friends and Life of the Land to fight the state-backed attempt to lift development restrictions on the waterfront park.
Aloha Tower Development Corp., the state agency that oversees waterfront development, wants to add more parking at neighboring Aloha Tower Marketplace.
The parties are due back in court July 2.
