17-year-old beaten, stabbed in Kalihi Kai
Police are looking for four teenage boys who beat and stabbed a 17-year-old Kalihi boy last night.
The victim told officers he had gone to a fast-food restaurant on Mokauea Street about 8:50 p.m.
He said he noticed four young men he judged to be about his age outside. The men jumped him, and he was stabbed once in the shoulder/neck area and once in the back in the fight, he told police.
The teen escaped to a friend's home on Kopke Street and called police. He was taken to Queen's Medical Center, where he was in good condition this morning.
Man arrested after bartender threatened with gun
A 45-year-old Honolulu man was arrested today after pointing a loaded handgun at a bartender who asked for payment on a beer, police said.
Police were called to The Hideaway Bar at 1913 Dudoit Lane in Waikiki after the 12:10 a.m. incident.
They said they stopped the gunman in his car outside the bar. He was identified by the bartender and arrested for investigation of first-degree robbery.
Police later learned that the handgun had been stolen in 1998.
Charges are pending.
