Highlights of the deal

• All Liberty House stores and assets sold to Federated Department Stores Inc.

• Stores will retain the Liberty House name for the near-term, but will ultimately be converted to Macy's.

• All employees will be able to apply for positions with Federated; few employees are expected to be affected.

• One specialty shop at the Marketplace on Kauai will be closed. Three workers there will be offered jobs at the Kukui Grove store.

• Terms of the deal, including purchase price, were not disclosed.

• Cincinnati-based Federated operates 432 stores in 33 states and Puerto Rico.

• Administrative and some senior management functions will be consolidated into Macy's West's San Francisco headquarters.
