Water main breaks in Kalihi, snarls traffic

Board of Water Supply workers yesterday were busy repairing a 12-inch water main that broke early yesterday on Kalihi Street. The water main broke in a transmission pipe between 'Elua and 'Akahi streets, and left 30 homes without water.
Traffic was backed up yesterday because of a Kalihi Street water main break.
The break also snarled traffic, as commuters were re-routed to the Likelike Highway. While traffic was backed up in the Kalihi area, a fatal accident on the H-1 Freeway backed up traffic in and around Mo'ili'ili.
Repairs on the water main were expected to be completed last night.
