Comedian-actor Tommy Davidson, an original cast member on TV's "In Living Color" and star of such films as Spike Lee's "Bamboozled" and the forthcoming "Juwanna Man," will give two Island concerts, on Maui and on O'ahu. Local favorite Andy Bumatai also will return to the limelight to join Davidson.

The play dates:

  • Maui — July 27, at 7:30 p.m., at Castle Theatre, Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $25, on sale starting tomorrow at the box office. Reservations: (808) 242-SHOW.
  • O'ahu — July 28, at 8 p.m., at the Hawai'i Theatre. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets: $27.50, on sale starting tomorrow at the box office. Reservations: 528-0506.

Davidson is a stand-up comedian, actor, musician and singer, and a veteran of three Showtime specials, "On the Strength of New York," "Illin' in Philly" and "Takin' it to D.C." His other film credits include "Ace Venture II: When Nature Calls," a reunion with fellow "In Living Color" alumnus Jim Carrey, and "Strictly Business," with Halle Berry.

Bumatai, a stand-up comic who has starred in numerous TV series ("The Jeffersons," "Byrds of Paradise," "Raven," "Marker"), specials ("All in the 'Ohana" locally, "Funny Men" on Showtime) and films ("Aloha Summer," "Whoopi Boys"), also has been a popular opening act for a string of visiting talent, from Lionel Ritchie to Kenny Loggins.

TBW Productions is presenting the shows.
