Maverick football clinic at Iolani

Former Hawai'i high school and college players in the NFL will participate in the Aloha Airlines Maverick Football Clinic, June 30 to July 1 at Iolani School.

NFL players who are scheduled to attend include Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala (St. Louis School/Pittsburgh Steelers), Chris Naeole (Kahuku High/New Orleans Saints) and Jeff Ulbrich (University of Hawai'i/San Francisco 49ers).

The public is invited to attend the clinic, which will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on both days.

Proceeds will benefit PACT's Teen Program, which serves 300 young people in Kalihi.

SURFING

• Fire fighters in action: The Koa Ahi Kewalo Surf Classic will be held at 9 a.m., June 30 at Kewalo Basin, conditions permitting.

The contest is open to active and retired fire fighters.

An open event for the public will be held later.


TRIATHLON

• JAMBA JUICE event: The JAMBA JUICE MountainMan Triathlon will be held at 7:30 a.m., June 30 at Waimea Valley Adventure Park.

The course is a 500-meter swim, 20K mountain bike and 5K run.

Late entries are being accepted up until race day. Fee is $55 individual, $75 relay team.

GOLF

• PGA Junior Series: Wailea's Emerald Golf Course will play host to the PGA Junior Series starting Monday.

More than 90 junior golfers from eight different states, and Canada and Guam will compete in the three day, 54-hole event.


CAMP FOR KIDS

• Kids' Camp: The Honolulu Club is sponsoring a Kids' Sports Camp this summer for children ages 7-15.

The camp is offered in four ($90) and eight ($160) week sessions, starting today.

Th camp meets every Saturday at the Honolulu Club, 932 Ward Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids will be introduced and taught a variety of activities from fencing to golfing.
