Learn about our ecosystems
By Jean Chow
Advertiser Staff Writer
From July through September, the Hawai'i Nature Center will sponsor activities every Saturday and Sunday. Focusing on five main aspects of Hawai'i's ecosystems isolation, dispersal, adaptation, interdependence and biodiversity the events were created in order to share with Islanders young and old "just how unique Hawai'i's ecosystems are," says Diana King, education director for the center. Adults can hike at various locations around the island, while keiki learn about Hawai'i's hidden nature by participating in everything from hiking to bird-watching and creating natural jewelry.
