Pedestrian critical after Palolo crash

Advertiser Staff

An 82-year-old man was in critical condition at Queen's Medical Center today after being struck by a car yesterday in Palolo.

Police said he was jaywalking on 10th Avenue at Hardesty Street at the time of the collision, reported at 4:47 p.m. Speed and alcohol do not appear to have contributed, investigators said.

Two other pedestrians injured in collisions last week also are hospitalized at Queen's. A 72-year-old man struck late Thursday night at Moanalua Road and Hekaha Street is in critical condition. A 36-year-old woman injured on Fort Weaver Road in 'Ewa is in fair condition.
