Nissan to sell used cars online

Advertiser Staff

Nissan Motor Corp. in Hawai'i, distributor of Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the state, said today it will sell used cars to Mainland customers through Autodaq Corp.'s online auctions.

Autodaq will attempt to sell the used cars online as they are being shipped to the Mainland, to reduce turnaround time. Usually, shipping and marketing used cars from Hawai'i can take as long as 90 days, Autodaq said in a news release.

About 80 percent of used cars sold by Hawaiian car dealers go to the Mainland, said Don Mackintosh of Nissan Hawai'i. Many were sold to rental companies new under an agreement that the dealers would repurchase the cars later.
