Suspect sought in kidnapping attempt

Advertiser Staff

Police are asking for help in locating a man wanted in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a woman in Wahiawa last week.

A woman told police that she was walking on Wilikina Drive about 7 a.m. June 21 when she saw a man park his car nearby, run across the street and hide behind a wall. As she approached the wall, police said, the man grabbed the woman and pulled her toward a bush area.

The woman screamed, and a passer-by stopped to assist her. The suspect let the woman go, got into his car and drove off on Kunia Road.

The suspect is described as in his 40s with short salt-and-pepper hair and a medium build. He was wearing a gray shirt, black shorts and an orange fluorescent belt.

Police said the suspect was driving an older model Oldsmobile with primer-colored paint.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300.
