Lunch Break: Big Gino's serves up pizza, cheese sticks

Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut feeling.

And when your gut's feeling like pizza, head to Big Gino's in the City Financial Tower, 201 Merchant St.

It could very well be the best pizza within walking distance from your office. We even made the 10-minute trek from our fringe-downtown space for a quick bite. And it was worth the Tuesday afternoon humidity, even in heels.

The New Yorker ($3.75 per slice) is crazy good, with pepperoni and sausage, black olives, fresh onions and mushrooms. And trust us, the garlic cheese sticks with marinara sauce ($4.25) are even better.

For the light eaters, Big Gino's also serves up Caesar salad ($5.25 regular, $2.75 small) and house salads ($5.75 regular, $3 small) with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions and green peppers.

An inside tip: Pizza, bread sticks and pastries are half off after 3:30 p.m.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. 566-6360.
