Post card postage goes up a penny Monday

Mailing a post card will cost a penny more starting Monday.

The cost of mailing a letter will stay the same at 34 cents, but mailing a post card will cost 21 cents, the first increase since 1995.

The cost of mailing heavier letters, such as wedding invitations, will also increase, with each additional ounce costing 23 cents.

Rates have also changed for business mail, advertising mail, periodicals, packages and other categories. New rates are available at the Web site www.usps.com and at post offices.
