The schedule for upcoming maintenance and hikes:

• Sunday, Pauoa Woods: This hike connects a series of trail segments into an adventurous loop through ridges and valleys, 'ohi'a and ti, past streams and waterfall tops. Something for everyone. Coordinators Judy or Kim Roy, 988-5372.

• July 7, Kuli'ou'ou Valley: A leisurely walk into this shaded trail is quite pleasant. It gets a little more difficult as you get farther on the trail. Caution is advised on a portion of this trail. Coordinator Justin Ohara, 946-2735.

YOUTH SOCCER

• NSA tryouts scheduled: The National Soccer Academy will hold tryouts and registration for the fall 2001 HYSA season for boys ages 9-11 at Petrie Park in Kaimuki on July 8 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m.

The tryouts will be conducted by Kamehameha Schools' girls coach Michelle Nagamine, Hawai'i Pacific University goalie coach Pepe Balina, and Myles Arakawa.

There is no charge for the tryouts. For more information, call Ken Wong at 737-0317 or 535-4116.
