Big Isle police investigating death

HILO, Hawai'i — Police last night were investigating the death of an individual whose burned body was found in an abandoned vehicle on North Kopua Road.

Capt. James Day of the Criminal Investigation Section said the body was found at 8:41 a.m. yesterday. The remains were burned beyond recognition.

Former husband charged in attack

Police on Thursday charged a 38-year-old man with kidnapping, first-degree assault and second-degree assault in an attack on his ex-wife Wednesday in her Kuhio Park Terrace apartment.

Clinton Vincent, who has no permanent address, is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.
