Maui Marathon continues its run

The 31st annual Maui Marathon, the oldest continuously held running event in Hawai'i and one of the oldest marathons in the United States, will be held Sunday.

Ranked ninth in North America by the "Ultimate Guide to Marathons," this 26.2-mile course is also recognized as one of the 10 most scenic marathons in North America.

Part of the Maui Marathon festivities include a Women's Pro Beach Volleyball exhibition, which will be held tomorrow at noon on the beach in front of the Maui Marriott Resort and Ocean Club in Ka'anapali.

The event, which also includes a $25,000 serving contest open to spectators following the exhibition match, which will feature four stars of the women's tour.
