'Moonglow' lands summer airing

By Wayne Harada

"Moonglow," Joe Moore's filmed-in-Hawai'i independent feature, has been picked up by a national pay-per-view provider. iN Demand, the nation's largest provider of pay-per-view movies, seen in 30 million homes, has picked up "Moonglow" for airing in June, July and August, said David Wengrod, iN Demand president, who called it "a real David in a world of Goliaths."

Moore, the executive producer and co-star of the film who is KHON Fox-2 news anchor in his other life, said he was a little disappointed that the film hasn't been picked up for screening in theaters, but was pleased that a strong showing during a recent Oceanic pay-per-view outing helped land the iN Demand deal.

It's a coup, considering the film's lack of so-called A-list stars, Moore said.

"Moonglow" had its world premiere last year at the Hawaii International Film Festival. The film, directed by Dennis Christianson, stars Milo O'Shea, Joanna Cassidy, Ione Skye, Eileen Brennan and Moore.
