Teens report obscene calls

Police are investigating reports from three 'Ewa teenagers who have received telephone calls from a man identifying himself as a doctor who attempts to get them to perform sexual acts on themselves.

There are similarities between the cases and a series of complaints police investigated in February 2000 in the Salt Lake area.

The suspect calls children at home when adults are out and says he is a physician. He tells them they've either missed a scheduled physical examination or that their parents have directed him to give them a physical now because he's leaving on vacation.

Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Richard Soo.

No one was hurt, and firefighters left the scene at 8:47 a.m., Soo said. The cause and damage estimates are still under investigation.
