Waipahu High calm after lockdown

Activities and classes resumed without disruption at Waipahu High School this morning, a day after a lunchtime brawl in the cafeteria forced a lockdown.

Yesterday's brawl involved from 10 to 30 students, Pearl City police Capt. Stephen Kim said. "It started with one kid throwing a milk carton at another. The two boys got into it, their friends saw it and everybody jumped in. It just snowballed," Kim said.

No one was seriously injured and there were no arrests.

Police returned to campus today to check on the situation, and no problems had been reported this morning.

"Hopefuly there has been time to cool off," Kim said.
