Wahiawa woman injured after domestic fight
A 36-year-old man faces an assault charge after he allegedly choked a woman and broke her ribs during a domestic argument in Wahiawa in January, police said.
The alleged incident happened on Jan. 11 at a Leimomi Place residence, police said.
Police said an argument led to the man choking the woman from behind. He then put his legs around her midsection and began squeezing. The woman found out her ribs were broken after she recently went to the hospital.
The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault today, police said.
Man arrested in Mililani attempted robbery case
Police have arrested a 26-year-old 'Ewa Beach man in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Young Dry Cleaners at Mililani Town Center on Jan. 30.
The man was arrested by Leeward O'ahu Crime Reduction Unit officers on Thursday, police said. He faces charges of second-degree robbery and kidnapping, police said.
On Jan. 30, police said a robber entered the laundry at 95-1249 Meheula Parkway and walked behind the service counter. The 27-year-old woman employee told the man that the area was restricted to employees. The robber told the employee he had a gun and a second robber entered and grabbed the employee.
The woman managed to break free and ran screaming out the door. Both robbers fled in a white four-door Honda Civic.
Hotel worker arrested in embezzlement case
A Waikiki hotel employee has been arrested for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from the hotel from 1996 to 1999, police said.
Police arrested the Diamond Head Beach Hotel employee on suspicion of first-degree theft. He is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from October 1996 to May 1999, police said.
The man was released pending further investigation of the case, police said.
