By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Editor

Manoa Valley Theatre will extend its musical "Side Show" with an additional performance at 4 p.m. April 1. The show, a true story of Siamese twins Violet and Daisy Hilton who became stars on the vaudeville circuit, was expected to close tomorrow. Tickets: $28, with discounts available for seniors, students, military and patrons under 25. Reservations: 988-6131.

Studio series begins April 2

Manoa Valley Theatre will present "Tales of Urban Hawai'i," an evening of music and storytelling by Ray Bumatai and Matt Souza, as part of its Studio Series, 8 p.m. April 2 and 3. The show brings the stylistic elements of Garrison Keillor's

"A Prairie Home Companion" and VH1's "Storytellers" down a notch to the level of an intimate Hawaiian-style story-sharing session. The script, boasting 13 original tunes

interspersed with dialogue and storytelling by Bumatai and Souza, loosely chronicles Bumatai's experiences growing up and living in today's Hawai'i, exploring one man's relationship to his home, his city, his island. Bumatai's Pacific folk band, Mossrock, will also perform. The group features Bumatai on guitar, Souza on bass and Jon Glaser on drums. Tickets: $15 for adults, $12 for MVT season subscribers and seniors. Reservations: 988-6131.
