Pearl City Burger King closed after fire

Firefighters were called a fire at the Burger King restaurant at the intersection of Kaahumanu Street and Kamehameha Highway in Pearl City at about 12:52 p.m. today which caused estimated $100,000 damage to the structure and $60,000 damage to the contents before 18 firefighters at the scene brought the blaze under control.

Fire department officials said the blaze started in the kitchen area but have not yet determined the exact cause. No one was hurt in the fire and the restaurant remains closed.
