Shell gas stations update appearance

Advertiser Staff

Shell is putting the final touches on a statewide upgrade of the appearance and customer service at its 58 Hawai'i gas stations. The overhaul, to be completed by the end of the month, is part of a five-year plan to revamp Shell's 15-year-old look at 9,000 stations nationwide.

Improvements at Shell stations statewide include more flowers in landscaping, brighter lights and larger signs.

Changes include larger signs with enhanced colors, brighter lighting, more flowers in station landscaping, customer service training, redesigned uniforms, and new trash cans and windshield cleaning units.

Shell said it started the U.S. rollout in Hawai'i after a similar upgrade in Europe because it has above average market share here and numerous stations in a small area. Shell has 24 stations on O'ahu, 13 on Maui, 12 on the Big Island and nine on Kaua'i.
