Wahine pitcher lauded for perfect game

University of Hawai'i senior right-hander Janelle Gonzales was named Western Athletic Conference softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced yesterday.

Gonzales pitched a perfect game against McNeese State last week in the Hawai'i Invitational.

She struck out 15 of the 21 batters she faced, tying a single-game school record held by two-time All-American and Olympic bronze medalist Brooke Wilkins. Hawai'i won the game, 1-0.
