Burger King in Kahala closes
The California franchise owner of 24 Hawai'i Burger King restaurants closed one restaurant earlier this month and plans to close another as soon as the end of the month.
None of the 46 employees affected will lose their jobs, according to a filing with the state. Hawai'i Cimm's Inc., based in Glendale, Calif., closed its store at Kahala Mall last week.
It also plans to close the Kailua Burger King at 6 Ho'ola'i St. on or after March 31, according to the filing with the Department of Labor & Industrial Relations. Company officials could not be reached for comment today.
