Digital Island's layoffs and other cost-cutting moves will not directly affect the Silicon Valley high-speed Internet company's Honolulu operations, company officials said yesterday.
Digital Island announced plans Tuesday to reduce its workforce by 10 percent, or about 90 employees.
The company's Honolulu network operations center has 64 employees, but none are in the departments being cut.
