Red Cross helping Wailuku family

WAILUKU, Maui — The American Red Cross is assisting a Wailuku family whose home was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon.

Damage to the wooden house on North Market Street and its contents was estimated at $12,000, according to a Maui Fire Department official. Repairs will be needed before the old building can be reoccupied, according to the Red Cross.

The volunteer agency is helping the family of one adult and two children find a new place to live and replace some of the items lost in the fire.

Cash donations may be sent to: American Red Cross, Hawai'i State Chapter, 4155 Diamond Head Road, Honolulu, HI 96816.
