Fun House
'Friends' fan missed her cue

Although my wife is a dedicated fan of the TV show "Friends," I guess she hasn't watched all the episodes closely enough. Recently, we had a real-life situation happen to us that was a replay of the "got keys?" episode: We were late for a family dinner, and as we were running out of the door, I asked her, "Got keys?" I saw her nod.
But when we got to the car and I held out my hand to her for the keys, she said, "I thought you had them. Remember? When we were walking out the door, you said, 'Got keys.' "
I said, "No, I didn't say 'Got keys,' like I had them," I said. "I said 'Got keys?' I was asking you."
Thanks to our miscommunications, we almost missed the dinner.
