State SEN. DAVID IGE, D-17th (Pacific Palisades, Pearl City), has been named vice president of engineering for Honolulu-based NetEnterprise, provider of data center, hosting and network integration services for Hawai'i and the Pacific. Ige is a 20-year veteran of managing technology and telecommunications operations, including 18 years with GTE Hawaiian Telephone, now Verizon. He was most recently with Pihana Pacific where, as project manager, he oversaw development of an Internet exchange, based in Honolulu.
CAROLINE WARD ODA, who became the first St. Andrew's Priory School alumna to lead the school with her interim appointment last July, has been named head of the Episcopal all-girls school. Oda holds master's degrees in language arts and social work, and has been admitted to the University of Hawai'i's sociology doctoral program. She has served as a teacher and department head in the San Francisco Unified School district, and as head of school at Christian Academy in Moanalua. Since 1995, Oda has headed her own firm, Collaborations, a consultant to independent schools and other nonprofit organizations.
Hawai'i Pacific University has announced these appointments:
GORDON FURUTO, recent university associate director of client services, has been promoted to director in the Information Technology Services division.
TOM KU, former network administrator, has been named director of network technologies, also within the Information Technology Services division.
Also within the division, BONNIE SAITO-MANAGO has been promoted from associate director, to director, of management information systems.
Five local business leaders have been named to the HAWAI'I BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE, the nonprofit group comprising business leaders with a focus on promoting the state's overall economic vitality: STEVEN AI, president and chief executive officer of City Mill Home Improvement Centers; JEFFREY WATANABE, chairman, executive committee of Watanabe Ing & Kawashima law firm; JOHN MONAHAN, president and chief executive officer of Liberty House; and HARRY SAUNDERS, president of Castle & Cooke Hawai'i, replacing PAT BIRMINGHAM, who retires as head of Castle & Cooke in June.

BRIAN TAMAMOTO, former director of labor relations for Aloha Airlines, and human resources director for Sheraton and Hilton hotels, has been named managing partner of the Human Resources Solutions consulting firm. His primary responsibilities include business development, sales and marketing, training, and as human resources consultant. The company is a division of 50th State Risk Management Service Inc., a member of the AIG Hawai'i family of companies.
ODETTE GENERALAO has been promoted to assistant vice president of sales for HAWAI'I INSURANCE CONSULTANTS. In addition to assuming responsibilities for the personal lines sales division, she will continue to manage all branch operations for HIC and the AIG Hawai'i family of companies.
Longtime insurance executive CARL P. HENNRICH has been hired by Marsh Hawai'i's sales division as a business solutions adviser, with a focus on initiating new business and development of sales strategies. Most recently, Hennrich was with Aon Risk Services Inc., where he had held a number of positions, including chairman, president and director of business development.
ALISON MORTLOCK has joined Marsh Hawai'i's captive division, Marsh Management Services Inc., as branch manager. Mortlock also serves as vice president. The company is a subsidiary of Marsh USA Inc., a worldwide insurance brokerage and risk management firm
Locally owned property and casualty insurance company Island Insurance Co. has named KEVIN AWAYA e-business manager and GRANT GURTIZA network manager, both in the information technology department. Both are former employees of KPMG.
Servco Pacific Inc. vice president DARYL TOKASHIKI has been named senior vice president of Servco subsidiary American Insurance Agency Inc., within the company's account development unit. The 20-year insurance veteran will be responsible for large commercial clients in the state.
