After a record-setting run on two Neighbor Islands, "The Night Marchers," a film made entirely on the Big Island with local actors and crews, will have its O'ahu premiere Friday at the Restaurant Row 9 Theatres.

The movie has been a surprise box office hit in its engagements on the Big Island and on Maui. According to David Lyons, vice president of worldwide marketing and advertising for Wallace Theatres, "The Night Marchers" "is currently the top-grossing film within our circuit, topping such blockbusters as 'Hannibal,' 'Spy Kids' and 'Driven.' ".

It focuses on five members of a documentary crew who journey to Waipi'o Valley in search of a legend, prompting the question of whether they will ever be seen again.

The film was directed by Blake and Brett Cousins, who have announced a casting call for a sequel to the film, "The Night Marchers 2," in the midst of the screening of the original.

Those interested should submit a photo (8-by-10 preferred) to any Wallace Theatre box office during operating hours, today through May 30.

The applicant's name, age and address should be printed on the back of photos submitted. Those whose photos are chosen will be contacted.
