"A Capital Day Down Capitol Way," the annual open house at the historic Capitol district in Honolulu, offers tours at Honolulu Hale, Ali'iolani Hale, YWCA, Honolulu Police Department, Washington Place, state Capitol, Mission Houses Museum, Honolulu Academy of Arts, 'Iolani Palace, St. Andrew's Cathedral and Hawai'i State Library. 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. — although each site offers a different schedule — May 19. FESTIVAL: May 19-20

The Red-Hot Lava Chamber Music Festival offers two concerts: "Trios and Tribulations," 7:30 p.m. May 22 at Atherton Performing Arts Studio, Hawai'i Public Radio; and "An Evening of Contrasts," 7:30 p.m. May 28 at the Honolulu Academy of Arts theater. The World Ocean Games, featuring a beach cleanup, benefit hair cut-a-thon and competitive ocean sports events, takes place around O'ahu shores May 25-June 3. The Honolulu Jaycees' annual 50th State Fair, featuring E.K. The Adam Baran Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Film Festival offers a lineup of award-winning features and short films at the Honolulu Academy of Arts theater.
