Nicole Garbin, two-time state girls soccer Player of the Year for two-time champion Baldwin High of Maui, announced yesterday that she would sign a national letter of intent today to attend the University of Oregon.
Garbin selected Oregon over Hawai'i and Washington State.
Playing in the Pac-10, which sent seven teams to the NCAA Championship Tournament last season, was a big factor in her decision.
She was chosen Player of the Year in the Maui league four years, two years playing sweeper and two as a midfielder, and was last year's MIL girls' basketball Player of the Year.
She is the 10th senior on this year's all-state soccer team to win an NCAA Division I scholarship.
