Two promotions have been announced at local health organizations:

• All Nippon Airways Co. Ltd. has named MILLIE TAKESUE vice president and general manager in Honolulu. Takesue joins ANA from ANA Hotels Hawai'i, where she was vice president and executive adviser since 1992. She is responsible for ANA's 18 weekly flights between Honolulu and Japan, and a staff of 10 at Honolulu International Airport offices.

• JEFFREY WRIGHT has been promoted to assistant hospital administrator at Kaiser Permanente Hawai'i. He was previously senior analyst and supervisor of Diagnostic Imaging for the Neighbor Islands. He came to Kaiser from posts as administrator and comptroller for hospitals in Virginia.

• JANA HALL has been named executive director of the Kapi'olani Health Research Institute, which provides specialized support for physicians' independent or collaborative biomedical research. Hall was previously executive director of Kapi'olani Health's genetics program, and also managed the Fetal Diagnostic Center and Women's Center.

Several visitor industry appointments have been announced:

• GERALD GLENNON has been named executive assistant manager of the Halekulani Hotel, overseeing the operational departments of the 456-room, five-diamond hotel. Previously, he was general manager of the Sofitel Miami, part of the Paris-based Group Accor.

• RICHARD THOME has been named director of engineering for the Renaissance 'Ilikai Waikiki Hotel. Thome was most recently area director of engineering for Interstate Hotels Corp. and, as such, responsible for overseeing the opening of the Hotel Aurora and Hotel Tverskaya in Moscow. He has also worked at the Keauhou Beach Hotel and Kona Lagoon Hotel in Kailua-Kona, and the Mahana on Maui.

• Former Bomat Ltd. staff accountant BERNARD TAN has been named market research analyst for Aston Hotels and Resorts Hawai'i, overseeing sales and marketing data and information collection and analyzing, monitoring market trends.

• PETER H. SCHALL has been named senior vice president for the Hawai'i region of Hilton Hotels Corp., overseeing all Hilton properties in the state, including the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa, Hilton at Turtle Bay Resort, Hilton Waikoloa Village, and the Doubletree Alana Hotel. He was most recently area vice president of Hilton Resorts Hawai'i, and will continue to serve as managing director of the almost 3,000-room Hilton Hawaiian Village resort.

• ANDREW B. CONBOY, former commercial real estate appraiser with Hastings, Conboy, Braig & Associates Ltd., has joined the national commercial real estate services firm of Grubb & Ellis/CBI Inc. as investment specialist.

• JOHN UEKAWA has been promoted to president/general manager of New City Nissan, succeeding FRANK KUDO, who was recently promoted to chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Uekawa is former general manager, overseeing overall operations.

• Silicon Valley executive RAY TEXEIRA has been named vice president of manufacturing for ADTECH, a division of Spirent Communications.


Correction: Jana Hall, the new executive director of the Kapiolani Health Research Institute, previously was executive director of Kapiolani Health's genetics program. Her previous title was incorrect in a previous version of this listing.
