• The Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies has scheduled a conference on Island State Security, June 5-7, at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Hotel. The meeting is expected to bring together 200 senior policy-makers, defense officials and academics from the Asia-Pacific region and the Mainland. Workshops are scheduled on climate change, fisheries, transnational crime, negotiations on compacts, and business/economic development, with a focus on continuing and emerging security issues facing island states.
