MUST-SEE: "Christy, Choices of the Heart" conclusion, 7 p.m., Pax TV. Most period pieces are slow and sleepy, reflecting simpler times. Not this one. The "Christy" miniseries wraps up with a storm, meteorologically and emotionally. The setting is Cutter Gap, a mountain hamlet amid the beauty of the Great Smokies. In 1912, a well-educated teenager — played by Lauren Lee Smith — arrives as a teacher. Now this Pax miniseries has kicked the plot into overdrive. In yesterday's opener, a typhoid epidemic raged through the community, killing a sweet mom, Fairlight, and a thieving boy, Lundy. Meanwhile, Christy agreed to marry the young preacher. The doctor — who hasn't mentioned his own love — promptly left for Baltimore and typhoid research. This is a fast, furious film that works surprisingly well.

"Con Air" (1997), 7 p.m., ABC. Here is a quick rerun of this all-out adventure. Nicolas Cage plays a good-guy prisoner, trapped on a plane filled with escaped bad-guy prisoners.

"Moesha," 8 p.m., UPN (seen on KFVE). This once-virginal show has new directions, including an indication that one of the four roommates is pregnant.

"Ally McBeal," 8 p.m., Fox. The relationship between Ally and Larry gets a fresh complication when his ex-wife shows up at the wrong time.

"The Hughleys," 8:30 p.m., UPN (seen on KFVE). The season finale leaves the two couples stranded on a boat — with each person revealing a secret.

"Third Watch," 9 p.m., NBC. Angry at her husband, Yokas dresses tart-style and heads into the wild part of town.
