Hanalei asked to curb trash
HANALEI, Kaua'i Residents on the north shore are being asked to limit the trash they bring to the Hanalei refuse transfer station, pending repairs to a waste hopper.
The county is using a rubbish collection truck to accept trash while the hopper is down. The problem appears to be electrical and may take two weeks to repair, officials said.
Residents are being asked to take loads larger than a trash barrel or two to other refuse transfer stations or the Kekaha landfill.
