Fall lineup at ABC includes new sitcoms, three dramas

USA Today

ABC unveiled a fall schedule yesterday that adds two new sitcoms, another sketch-comedy series and three dramas to replenish its lineup.

All three midseason comedies — "My Wife and Kids," "What About Joan" and "The Job" — will be back next fall. But four that premiered last October will not be returning, including "The Geena Davis Show," "Gideon's Crossing," and "Norm."

"Once and Again" will be back, with "The Mole," on Fridays.

"Millionaire" will air just twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays. New shows include:

  • "Bob Patterson," a comedy with former "Seinfeld" star Jason Alexander as a down-on-his-luck motivational speaker.
  • "The Dad," a family sitcom starring Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith ("Ally McBeal").
  • "Philly," a drama starring "NYPD Blue's" Kim Delaney as a defense attorney, from "Blue" producer Steven Bochco.
  • "Thieves," a romantic drama starring John Stamos and Melissa George as robbers employed by the government.
  • "Alias," from producer J.J. Abrams ("Felicity"), about a female special agent.
