Honolulu healthiest?

Natural Health magazine's April edition names Honolulu the healthiest city in which to live, topping a list of 50 cities surveyed annually by the magazine. Hawai'i's capital city scored highest in the physical health category, which included life expectancy rates (higher than any other city evaluated), as well as breast cancer and heart disease rates.

While the magazine pointed out that breast cancer rates overall are low here, it noted that many women of Polynesian descent don't seek health care until their illnesses are far advanced.

In rating Honolulu at the top of the list, the magazine pointed out one way residents can help is by honoring Bosom Buddies of Hawai'i, a nonprofit breast cancer support group that offers healing touch free for a year to women who have undergone breast cancer surgery.
